We have partnered with new ambassadors for 2022 and it is finally time to reveal the new crew with a quick interview to discover who they are behind the scenes.

Guillaume Smith aka GLS-Coach Smith 

What is your job? 

Strenght and conditionning coach 

Where are you from and where do you live now? 
Toronto, presently living in Lac Brome. 

The cycling discipline you specialize in?   
Triathlon demi distance. 

Your dream ride/destination? 
Tour of Scotland in gravel. 

Your greatest achievement on two wheels / what you are most proud of? 
70.3 ironman Muskoka in 2021. 

The one song you sing the most (out loud or in your head) when you ride? 
The song I often play : Darius Rucker ,Wagon wheel   
The song I play when I'm riding: Video Kill the Radio Star 

What's your dream bike?   
The new Trek Speed Concept or the Canyon of TT!!! 

Are you an Introvert or an Extrovert? 

You find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million. What would you do?  
I would open a free gym open at any time of the day for all the members I select, mainly the people I already coach. On the same land I would open a mini microbrewery, a café and an ice cream shop, and ideally, I would still have some money left to make cycling trips to expensive destinations! 

If you could have a superpower, what would it be? 

If you had to eat the same thing every day for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Are you more of a morning person or a night owl?
I'm pretty weird, some days I can wake up at 5am ready for anything and other days at 10am working til 1am.

What were you like in high school? 
Let's just say that I was not part of the cool gang, I was not very good at school. I had a lot of trouble concentrating and getting good grades. I was a bit chub. 

How many bikes do you have and which is your favourite/why? 

Currently 3. My favorite is my Devinci Spartan as it is honestly my favorite mountain bike ever, when I ride it it's like it was designed for me.

Your biggest crash/fright? 
I went over my handlebars on the edge of a cliff in Bromont and woke up in the hospital. A sharp rock had gotten into my full face helmet and goggles.

My coaching 

What are your cycling plans for 2022? 
Ironman 70.3 Tremblant and Santa Cruz and potentially enduro races

Former BMX champion turned endurance gravel bike rider, road racer, and mountain bike enthusiast, Steven likes to try everything! You may have even seen him in a Cirque du Soleil show performing amazing tricks on his BMX! One thing is for sure, Steven is not afraid of anything.
